Welcome October
A blaze of colour, flamboyant flames of oranges, reds and yellows;
Woodlands garnished with glossy chestnuts and burnished copper hallows;
Temperatures cool and light glows beneath sunny, cloudless skies.
Welcome October
As Autumn fades away, leaves falling, wild annuals diminishing;
Last days before daylight saving, mornings bright at seven, dawn rising;
Celebrating the Samhain season, old Gaelic for Summer's grand finishing.
Welcome October
A busy time of year for Nature's hibernating creatures;
Small mammals, mice and birds are busy storing food for Winter;
We build fires to celebrate the season, honouring those who have gone before us.
