This is the best time to explore, refresh and plan routines for a healthy 2024
There's nothing like finding a quiet moment during the festive period to sit quietly by the fire with a hot cup of tea and a slice of homemade cake. It feels good to snuggle up and think about the wonders of Yuletide and the gifts you would like the New Year to bring. It's a time to allow your mind to wander and drift, reflect and dream, accept things for what they are and let them go, and come up with ideas for living a healthy, happy and creative life in 2024.
With this in mind, I have created some new printable resources to inspire you to explore what you will be eating next year and which habits you might like to refresh or put in place for a healthier and happier you. These are additions to my other FREE downloads which include a Daily Planner, Daily Gratitude, Field Trip Planner, Reading Planner and Follow The Moon Calendar for 2024.
Meal planning
I wrote about the benefits of daily planning in terms of spending time in Nature and this is going a step further to think about what you are planning to eat for your best health and enjoyment. An organic diet and organic meals require some work behind the scenes which need to be thought through. This includes things like detoxing, cleansing, researching, sourcing, buying, storing, preparing, baking, stewing, roasting and so on.
Planning meals and recipes help to bring everything together in tasty, nutritious dishes of goodness as they are required. It took me several months to detox safely and get the hang of going fully organic. It meant learning how to create delicious meals and beverages using ONLY fresh and organic ingredients. It turned out to be more than worthwhile with lots of extra benefits I hadn't expected. (More on this in a future post).

The first are the Meal Planner and Recipe Planner. You can access them below. Use these to start planning meals for the week and for organising some recipes to try. Try my healthy recipes and recommended recipe books (at the end of this post). Use your planners to bring together creations using natural ingredients for all or parts of the week.
Habit tracking
I learned about habit tracking from the many books I have read about productivity and bullet journaling. Tracking is not for everyone but I highly recommend giving it a try for new habits you would like to master or old habits you would like to change. It's a great way to focus your mind and think about 'triggers' you can put in place to make you do something or to ensure you do not do something that might take you off course.
Habit trackers are a great way to build confidence and help you feel a sense of achievement. Expecially when you get onto a streak which is when you are able to keep it up for a longer period of time. A month is a good streak to aim for to form a good habit. If you enjoy it and want to continue or try other things - even better!

The Habit Tracker download provides space to list the habits you want to track in order of priority with circles to tick for each day of the week for activities completed. There is a note section at the bottom to write down any ideas, changes or progress points you might want to remember.
Energy saving
Planning can sound a bit boring and I know many of us haven't the time for intricate planning. It doesn't need to be an issue. Effective planning is more about the process of being imaginative, creative and thinking things through. I tend to 'visualise' what I want so that I can understand intuitively what I am going to need, what I need to do and when I need to do it. I create mini plans (or lists) everyday and make bigger ones when they are needed. We all have our own way of doing things and getting things done.
There is no question that planning saves an enormous amount of energy (as long as you keep it simple and don't overdo it). Being prepared means no more dithering, making decisions on the fly, not knowing what to do, feeling ill-informed, being late, letting people down and so on. Sitting quietly to go through things, come up with ideas, break things up into steps and pre-empt events that might hold you up is time very well spent. Even better when you are relaxed - it turns out to be a pleasureable thing to do.
So make it playful, curious and interesting. Make sure YOU are at the centre of the equation and that you weave in plenty of time for YOUR health, happiness and wellbeing. We all need each other and we need you! If we all take the time to look after ouselves, we will have more time to enjoy our lives, be ourselves, work creatively, relax and have fun.
Make these gifts of life your life's purpose and everything will fall naturally into place.

Recommended Books
Here are some of my go-to books for perparing, cooking and baking organic food.
Sart with the book that helped me to detox and renourish myself safely and organically (Cleanse to Heal), then a book that provides essential information on how we can grow food locally and how to mix different types of food and different proteins for optimum nutrition (Diet for a Small Planet), a book that has travelled with me for its tasty vegetarian classics over many years (Cranks) and finally, a beautiful book I bought for next year with exquisite foraged food recipes and beverages (The Hedgerow Cookbook).
Learning how, why, what and when to eat in a way that replanishes and supports your mind, body and soul is a lifetime's journey and a personal thing to each of us. If you are like me, you will be curious and want to study different knowledge to know if it will add value and how to bring it into the fold.
I hope you find some gems to add to your collection and I will keep you posted on new books as they come to light.
